Sadly I knew 2 Marines who are now no longer with us. One committed suicide about 6 months ago, and the other was KIA while serving in Afghanistan about a year and half ago. PTSD is a major issue today because unlike physical injuries, most military personal wont seek help, or even admit they suffer from anything. I know from a personal experience of at least one Marine who will still deny having any issues to this day, even though all signs point to PTSD. I also know of a few who have come to terms with it, and even with treatment they will never be who they were before they deployed.  War is horrible, and this is just one of the numerous reasons why.
